According to Citi Property Survey about the residential property ownership in Hong Kong in response to the withdrawal of all property cooling measures, the survey found that over 70% of the affluent individuals surveyed express a greater interest in home ownership, and 50% think it is now a better time to buy a property. Among the home-owner respondents in the affluent segment, 62% express a greater interest in changing to a new property. Compared to the general respondents, those in the affluent segment are more interested in buying a property as an investment (46%), followed by support to their children (34%) and a source of rental income (25%).

Among all the property cooling measures that have been lifted, the respondents in the affluent segment are most aware of the removal of the Special Stamp Duty (SSD, 65%) and Buyer’s Stamp Duty (BSD, 61%). Of those who express a greater interest in home ownership in the affluent segment, 42% cite the removal of SSD as one of the reasons for their increased interest in buying a property, followed by the easing of loan-to-value ratios for residential properties (41%) and the removal of BSD (36%).

To be eligible for the Cash Reward, the Referee must fill in a referral form and submit to us at loan application.
    • ● The Referee’s applied mortgage loan must beHK$2,000,000 or above. Any existing loan top-up or staff loan is not eligible for this program. The applied loan amount is subjected to the decision made by Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited.
    • ● The referrer will enjoy $2,000 cash rewards for referrals with Referee’s applied loan amount of HK$2,000,000 or above and less than HK$5,000,000. The referrer will enjoy HK$5,000 cash rewards for referrals with Referee’s applied loan amount of HK$5,000,000 or above. The maximum cash rewards for each referrer at each case of successful referral is HK$5,000.
