Remarks:

  • Eligible Local Transactions will be counted first when it comes to meeting the Spending Target if Eligible Transactions include Eligible Local Transactions and Eligible Foreign Currency Transactions.
  • Extra Mile is calculated based on 1 Mile=12 points. 2,000 Miles is equivalent to 24,000 points. Citi Credit Card Earn Up to HK$1.5=1mile (November 2022-Feburary 2023) Terms & Conditions:


  1. The promotion period is valid from November 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023, both dates inclusive (“Promotion Period”). The Promotion Period consists of 4 Phases - Phase 1: November 1 to November 30, 2022; Phase 2: December 1 to December 31, 2022; Phase 3: January 1 to January 31, 2023; Phase 4: February 1 to February 28, 2023; (based on transaction date). A “phase” is defined as either Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3 or Phase 4..
  2. This promotion applies to selected Cardholders ("Eligible Cardholders") of Citi Credit Card (“Designated Credit Card”) issued by Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited (“Citibank”) listed at the promotional email/SMS for this promotion. Transactions made by the Eligible Cardholders (including Eligible principal and supplementary card(s)) will be combined.
  3. Cardholders are required to make successful one-time registration once via one of the following channels during the Promotion Period: (1) at “citibank.hk/spend9a”; OR (2) register via Citi Mobile App “Get More” page (“Registration”) (“Registered Cardholders”) in order to participate in this promotion. Each Cardholder is required to register once only within the Promotion Period. Only the latest registered Credit Card Number and Cathay membership number will prevail. Only the first 10,000 successfully registered Cardholders are eligible for this promotion. Registration with a supplementary card is not accepted.
  4. Cardholders are required to provide the valid Cathay membership number which bears the same name as that of the Principal Cardholder at “citibank.hk/spend9a” in order to receive the extra Asia Mile(s) (“Extra Mile(s)”) from this promotion. Failure to provide the Cathay membership number within the promotion period may result in forfeiture of Mile(s).
  5. Citibank will not accept any liability in relation to any loss of rewards / payment delay incurred due to an incorrect information, including Cathay membership number, being provided by the Eligible Cardholder.
  6. This promotion applies to “Eligible Transactions” made by the Designated Credit Card during the Promotion Period. “Eligible Transaction” includes:
    • “Eligible Local Transactions” which refer to all posted retail transactions (including online transactions), with official payment records and monthly installments of newly billed Merchant Installment Plan that are also posted during the Promotion Period, made in Hong Kong dollars, Renminbi and Macau Patacas. Ineligible Transactions are excluded.
    • “Eligible Foreign Currency Transactions” which refer to all posted retail transactions made in foreign currencies (excluding Renminbi and Macau Patacas);
  7. Eligible Foreign Currency Transactions exclude card-present transactions made by Cardholders at any merchant with physical premises, address of the fixed place of business or business license in the United Kingdom or any country participating in the European Economic Area (EEA) or joining after October 19, 2019, including, without limitation, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway (“EEA Participating Countries”). For avoidance of doubt, (card-not-present) online transactions made in foreign currencies with any merchants in EEA Participating Countries or the Unite Kingdom qualify as Eligible Foreign Currency Transactions. Online transactions are transactions with official payment records and classified as online transaction according to the merchant codes/transaction types as defined by relevant card association or a merchant's acquiring bank. Citibank has no obligation to clarify whether an online transaction is an Eligible Transaction before the Cardholder conducts such online transaction.
  8. Ineligible Transactions include but not limited to, cash advance, “Dynamic Currency Conversion non-online transactions”, i.e. transactions with conversion from a foreign currency into Hong Kong Dollars involved at the point of the transaction, purchase of cash vouchers, purchase/add value of gift cards, purchase/reload of stored value cards, Octopus Automatic Add Value service transactions, Octopus Add Value through Mobile Payment such as ApplePay, transactions made through Faster Payment System (FPS) services, charity donations, phone/fax/mail order, traveler’s checks, foreign exchange transactions using Credit Card (for example but not limited to Forex.com, etc.), withdrawal amount/loan amount under the Balance Transfer Program, Cash Conversion Program, “FlexiBill” Installment Program and “PayLite” Installment Program, Quick Cash Installment Program, all payments made by Citi PayAll, payment to the Inland Revenue Department, bill payment, utilities bill made with credit card via internet banking or online payment system, auto payment and recurring transactions, mutual funds payment, fees & charges, insurance transactions, casino transactions, unposted/cancelled/refunded transactions, other unauthorized transactions and fraud and abuse transactions.
  9. Eligible Transactions effected through principal and supplementary cards under the same Designated Credit Card account will be combined.
  10. Incremental spending (“Incremental Spending”) is defined as Eligible Transactions made Per Phase beyond the Spending Target Per Phase stated on the promotional email/SMS (“Spending Target”). Incremental Spending made with Designated Credit Card during the Promotion Period is eligible for Extra Miles upon successful Registration during the Promotion Period. Extra Miles rewarded will be rounded up to the nearest digit.
  11. Eligible Local Transactions will be counted first when it comes to meeting the Spending Target.
  12. “Extra Miles” will be rewarded in the form of Asia Miles at the preferential conversion rate of 12 Points = 1 Mile with other terms and conditions prevail under ‘Citi ThankYou℠ Rewards’. If the Designated Credit Card is Citi PremierMiles® Card or Citi Prestige Card, every HK$3 Incremental Spending on Eligible Local Transactions and every HK$1.5 Incremental Spending on Eligible Foreign Currency Transactions, Cardholder will be rewarded with 1 Mile (inclusive of Basic Points (“Basic Points”) earned under existing Card Rewards Program and the Extra Miles rewarded under this program). Basic Points refer to HK$8=1 Mile on local transactions, HK$4=1 Mile on Foreign Currency Transactions under Citi PremierMiles® Card Rewards Program, and HK$6=1 Mile on local transactions, HK$4=1 Mile on Foreign Currency Transactions under Citi Prestige Benefits. Terms and Conditions of Citibank Rewards Program apply. All other Designated Credit Cards excluding Citi PremierMiles® Card and Citi Prestige Card will be rewarded with the preferential rate of 12 Points = 1 Mile in the Extra Miles calculation for every HK$3 Incremental Spending and for every HK$1.5 Incremental Spending on Eligible Local Transactions and Eligible Foreign Currency Transactions respectively.
  13. Each Designated Credit Card account (including the principal and supplementary cards under the same Designated Credit Card account) is subject to a maximum of 2,000 Extra Miles per phase on Eligible Local Transactions, 2,000 Extra Miles per phase on Eligible Foreign Currency Transactions, and a total of 16,000 Extra Miles (192,000 Points) throughout the entire Promotion Period.
  14. Citibank will determine the eligibility of Eligible Cardholders to participate in this promotion as well as the transactions based on Citibank’s record, and at the sole and absolute discretion of Citibank. If transactions are confirmed to be qualified for Extra Mile(s) after verification by Citibank at its sole and absolute discretion, extra Mile(s) will be credited to the latest Cathay membership account provided by the Eligible Cardholder (based on the latest Registration) on or before May 15, 2023, subject to Cathay Membership Programme Terms and Conditions and validity. Eligible Cardholders are required to ensure the sequence of First Name and Last Name in Citibank’s record is aligned with the record in Cathay Membership Programme. Any mismatch on either First Name or Last Name may lead to Points Transfer rejection. For your sequence of First Name and Last Name in Cathay Membership Programme, please contact Cathay for details. The Basic Points will be credited to the Designated Credit Card account in accordance with the terms and conditions of Citi PremierMiles® Card and Citi Prestige Card Rewards Program.
  15. Cardholders must keep and submit the relevant original credit card sales slips and original merchant sales receipts in respect of the Eligible Transactions for inspection upon request by Citibank. All documents submitted to Citibank will not be returned.
  16. Cardholders’ Credit Card accounts used for Eligible Transactions must be valid and with good credit record during the Promotion Period and the fulfillment period in order to be eligible to receive any Extra Miles; otherwise, Citibank reserves the right to forfeit the Extra Miles without prior notice.
  17. In case of any fraud/abuse/reversal or cancellation of transactions in respect of which Extra Miles were rewarded, Citibank reserves the right to debit the equivalent amount of Extra Miles from the Cardholder’s Credit Card account used for Eligible Transactions without prior notice.
  18. Citibank reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or withdraw or terminate this promotion at its discretion without prior notice and Citibank accepts no liability for such amendment, withdrawal or termination. All matters and disputes are subject to the final decision of Citibank.
  19. Asia Miles terms and conditions apply.
  20. In the event of any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail. If there is any discrepancy between the promotional materials and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions shall apply and prevail.
  21. No person other than the Registered Cardholder and Citibank will have any right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance to enforce or enjoy the benefit of these terms and conditions.
  22. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
